About Ruth

Ruth is a mother of three children with six grandchildren. She has enjoyed Latin Dancing the past few years. As a single parent, she understands the challenges of raising children with little financial or family support. She is passionate about helping others overcome difficult experiences and challenges, focusing on individual strengths to find personal transformation.

Ruth spent two invaluable years on a Native American Reservation working with adolescents, which gave her a greater cultural awareness.

Ruth believes that faith in God plays an important role in providing hope, healing, and direction. She is open and respectful toward a variety of religious beliefs, and welcomes the use of Spiritual and Biblical resources in treating life’s challenges.

Counseling

Ruth has worked in behavioral health since 2000 as a case manager, working with teenagers, general mental health and serious mental illness (SMI). She has worked as a therapist since 2017.

Ruth takes a person-centered, integrative, and holistic approach to counseling; using a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, motivational interviewing, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Her training has focused on trauma, abuse and deprivation.
